Nicoya Peninsula

The Nicoya Peninsula is where you find many of Costa Rica's major beach resorts; where visitors come to spend money and enjoy luxurious accommodations, great food, beautiful beaches and pulsating nightlife. The resorts of Nicoya are world class, rivaling Cancun Mexico.

However, there is another side to the Nicoya peninsula. Most of the development has been at the beaches, and the interior of the peninsula offers several of Costa Rica's most interesting National Parks.

Palo Verde National Park is a major bird sanctuary, and a magnet for avid bird watchers. More than 300 bird species have been spotted there, including herons, storks, egrets, spoonbills, ibis and ducks.
