Orientation Around Playa del Coco & Ocotal

Playa del Coco is a small but busy beach town. Most of its hotels and restaurants are either on the water, on the road leading into town, or on the road that heads north, about 100m (328 ft.) inland from and parallel to the beach. Playa Ocotal, which is south of Playa del Coco on a paved road that leaves the main road about 183m (600 ft.) before the beach, is a small collection of vacation homes, condos, and a couple of hotels. It has one bar and one restaurant on the beach.

There's a branch of the state-run Banco Nacional (tel. 670-0801) on the main road into town, about 300m (984 ft.) before you hit the beach. If you can't flag down a taxi easily on the street, call tel. 670-0408.
