Costa Rica's South Pacific Coast and Osa Peninsula
The South Pacific Coast and Osa Peninsula region of Costa Rica is known not only for it's beautiful sweeping beaches but also for it's biological diversity and intensely complex ecosystems. National Geographic Magazine recently called the area "the most biologically intense place on earth".
Corcovado National Park in particular, features hundreds of varieties of plant and animal life found no where else in Costa Rica. Diving, snorkeling, surfing and sea kayaking are world class in this region, and you're sure to enjoy excellent hiking and bird watching.
The Sierpe Mangroves have the biggest extension of mangrove in Costa Rica (36.950 acres), which represents almost half of the mangrove resources of the country.
