Playa Hermosa Surf Contest A Success!

Congratulations to Jason and Cameron from Cabinas Las Olas and Vecinos de Playa Hermosa for making the Soulstice Surf Expression Session a success. The surf contest is held annually to bring area residents together in Playa Hermosa to develop programs that have a positive impact on the community.

More than $2500 was raised to be distributed for the recycling program and for the Punta Mala National Wildlife Refuge in Playa Hermosa.

Best Women’s Wave went out to Andrea Diaz of Waves Costa Rica; Gilbert Brown won Best Men’s Wave: Best Soul Wave went to local legend Jimmy Hoga: and Garrett Anderson took Best Masters’ Wave. Other category winners included Shilka, Vince, Durby, Scoop and Carlos Munoz. Extra special congrats to two of Costa Rica’s top surfers, Diego Naranjo and Lisbeth Vindas, who got married June 23, with celebrations held at Los Suenos.
