The Zabamar is set back from Jaco beach in a shady compound. There are 10 spacious rooms in a two-story building, featuring cool tile floors and air-conditioning.
The older rooms are also large and have red-tile floors, small refrigerators, ceiling fans, hammocks on their front porches, and pilas (laundry sinks) in little gravel-and-palm gardens behind them. Some have rustic wooden benches and chairs. Travelers on budgets will appreciate the size of the older, less-expensive rooms. There's a small swimming pool with two separate children's sections that's quite popular with Tico families staying here.
