Costa Rica Camping Camping is available inside the Rincon de la Vieja national park.

Camping is available inside the park $2 per person. Each campground has water, pit toilets, showers, tables and grills. No fuel available, so bring wood, charcoal … Mosquito nets or insect repellent are needed in the wet season.

Camping is allowed in most places inside the park, but you should be self-sufficient and prepared for cold and foggy weather in highlands; a compass will come in handy.

The wet season in Costa Rica is May - Nov. (October is the rainiest). So be prepared for lots of mosquitoes. Dry-season from December to March is recommended. January and February are prone to strong winds.
