Universal de Idiomas as well as many other Costa Rica companies offers the opportunity to live with a Costa Rican host family. Living with a Costa Rica host family will help you practice your Spanish, live the Costa Rican culture and make friends. Each family has gone through a selection process and is selected to ensure that they fit the student’s needs. Many families have been with the program for years and know how to treat our students well.
The home stay program will give you the opportunity to live with selected Costa Rican families that don't speak English. Thus, it is the perfect environment in which to put into practice what you acquire in the classroom. It also rounds out your learning by giving you a first hand experience with the Costa Rican Culture, Costa Rica fodd & Cuisine and Warm family life.
The Costa Rica homestay begins when the family picks you up from the airport. They then show you how to get around San Jose and inform you on what you need to know about Costa Rica's Capital city. In addition, the family provides students with breakfast and dinner, as well as laundry service.
Airport pickup, private room, keys to the house, breakfast, dinner and laundry service are included in the Costa Rica homestay rate.
Other Costa Rica housing possibilities
If you don't want to live with a host family, they can help you to find another place to live: a room in a hotel, a room in a (students´) flat or even an apartment, but keep in mind that it might be more expensive then a stay with a host family.
