This Costa Rica hotel is located high on a hillside above Lake Arenal. where you get a direct view of Arenal Volcano over a forested valley. The Costa Rica Volcano view is stunning.

The standard hotel rooms, although attractively decorated, have no views at all. The best rooms here are the junior suites, which have two queen-size beds, balconies, large picture windows, and lots of space. The matrimonial suite comes with its own private Jacuzzi. Five separate buildings on a hill behind the main building house the 10 chalet rooms; these rooms all have plenty of space, small kitchenettes, and good views from their balconies or patios.

Costa Rican meals are served in a dining room with a glass wall facing Arenal Volcano. After dinner you can retire to the library, where there's a huge stone fireplace and a pool table, or soak in the outdoor Jacuzzi. A separate lounge has a TV and VCR. Situated on a macadamia plantation between two strips of virgin forest, the lodge has several trails that are great for bird watching.

Location: Drive W from La Fortuna past Tabacon and the Arenal Volcano National Park. About 200m (656 ft.) past the dam over Lake Arenal, you'll see a steep driveway. The lodge is a couple of kilometers up the driveway, near Arenal Volcano.
