Flight Connections to Costa Rica


Due to its privileged geographical position, San José Costa Rica is an important hub for the Americas. There are numerous flights from North and South American cities, from Europe as well as from the Caribbean. For the first time in the History, as of June 2004, European visitors can fly non stop on several direct flights per week between Madrid and San José. In addition to flights connecting in North America, South America and Cuba. Following is a short list of airlines serving Costa Rica:

Air Madrid

Delta Airlines

Continental Airlines
Continental Airlines provides daily service via its hubs Newark (New York) and Houston. More information online at  www.continental.com

United Airlines

American Airlines
American Airlines operates a number of flights to San José on a daily basis, out of its main hub Miami as well as out of Dallas/Fort Worth. Check out connections at  www.aa.com

Grupo Taca
Grupo Taca is the alliance of Central American airlines. The airline group offers connections from a number of gateway cities in North, Central and South America, as well as convenient connections within Central America. Many Europeans use their national arline to fly to Miami and then continue to Costa Rica with Grupo Taca. Martinair
The Dutch vacation airline operates flights three times a week from Amsterdam via Miami. Flights can be booked from either city and there is a number of inner-European connections to Amsterdam available. For more details, please visit Martinair at  www.martinair.com

Iberia
Iberia has several non-stop flights per week from Madrid/Barajas to San José/Juan Santamaría, Costa Rica. Visit the Spanish airline’s homepage at  www.iberia.com

Cubana de Aviación
Cubana Airlines has flights to San José from various European cities via its Havanna hub. Information about Cubana’s route system can be obtained at:  www.cubana.cu

Costa Rica’s second international airport Daniel Oduber in Liberia, Province of Guanacaste, is more and more used by North American, Central American and Domestic scheduled and charter flight companies as well as for private flights.
