Costa Rica's Southern Pacific Jewel: Uvita Beach
Playa Uvita is located on the beautiful and tranquil South Pacific Coast, 10 miles south of the surf town of Dominical, in Costa Rica
Uvita has all what you need. Nature, tranquility and yet all common facilities. Lots to discover. Uvita is a small village which is still calm and without many tourists although it is directly bordering Parque Nacional Marino Ballena.
Still tranquil - it's growing - so now Uvita offers you a tourist information center, two supermarkets, a bank, an Internet-Café, some restaurants / bars, stores, a police station, a small hospital, and a farmacy.
Getting to Costas Rica's Uvita beach, south of Dominical
From San Jose - Take the MUSOC bus to San Isidro de General. Buses leave daily almost every hour. The trip takes 3 hours and costs about $3.
From San Isidro, take the bus at the Uvita/Dominical station, a 5 minutes walk from where the MUSOC-bus drops you off, to Uvita. Buses leave at 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. It takes 2 hours and costs about $2. To arrive in daylight catch the 9 a.m. bus. Get off after the gas station. Ask the bus driver for "Soda Naranjita".
