Bañagas Design was founded by owner/designer, Rusti Bañagas. Rusti found her way to Costa Rica from California, as head designer of a large hotel in Jaco Beach, Costa Rica. Only a few months after Rusti and Chef, her 80 pound boxer, arrived in Jaco Beach, Rusti was recruited by Los Suenos Resort and Marina. As Head of Interior Design for the biggest resort in Central America, Rusti had the privilege of working with over one hundred Los Sueños homeowners, many of whom she continues to work with today. Designing and delivering over 120 stunning condos in just under two years is quite an accomplishment.

It was Rusti’s experience in Jaco Beach, that allowed her to open her own design firm and continue her success. Bañagas Design has clients throughout Costa Rica and the United Stated. Rusti often travels to Florida, Oklahoma and California to offer her expertise.

Banagas Design is a boutique firm that prides itself on servicing only a few choice projects at a time. It’s important to Rusti that all her clients get the time and attention they deserve. Rusti is a very "hands on" designer. “It’s difficult to try and design your dream home if you’re not currently living in Costa Rica. I am the liaison between the builder, Vacation Rental Agency and the move in. I love what I do.”
