The hike up to the tip of the Rincon de la Vieja crater is along a trail with a tremendous diversity of life zones, and the view upon arrival is astonishing. The hike up takes around 3.5 hours.
On a clear day you can see the Caribbean Sea, the Nicaragua Lake and the Pacific Ocean. Close to the summit are the “Jilgueros” Lagoon and the highest point, the Von Seebach.
In order to enjoy the area, we recommend a stay at some of the local hotels and lodges. Most of these Costa Rica accommodations offer a wide range of tours and fun adventure activities.
