Jaco Beach, on the Central Pacific coast of Costa Rica, features several surf schools for you to choose from. Located directly on the beach in front of Bohio, is Jaco Surf School. Gustavo Castillo, a local Costa Rican and the primary instructor, has been surfing all of his life, and his experience will get you up and ripping.
  
Beginning with stretching exercises, you are instructed on the safety aspects of surfing, learn about swells, riptides and the right breaks for you.  A 3 hour surf lessons is $45.
