Barra del Colorado Wildlife Refuge North of the City of Limon
On the Northern end of the Limon Province extending across the Northern Heredia Province are canals and freshwater lagoons; Tortuguero and the Colorado River.
Barra del Colorado Wildlife Refuge: Barra del Colorado Wildlife Refuge protects forests, mangroves, canals and marine areas on the northern Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica.
Caņo Palma Biological Research Station is located at the Barra del Colorado Wildlife Refuge. The research station is run by the Canadian Organization for Tropical Education and Rainforest Conservation (COTERC)
There are NO public facilities here. This zone is designated for research and is only accessible by small boat.
However, A trail system has been established into the forested area of the Station. Rivers, streams and lagoons are conveniently nearby to explore.
