Costa Rica General Info: Local Weather
Costa Rica Local Weather
Costa Rica’s mild climate is wonderful for many northern visitor. Costa Rica’s dry season runs from December to April, and the rainy or “green” season, from May to November.
Located near the equator, seasonal Costa Rica weather changes are not as dramatic as in other countries with extreme latitudes. During the green season you’ll still enjoy beautiful sunny mornings followed by afternoon showers. July usually dries up for a few weeks and kids get a school break.

Weather changes dramatically through out Costa Rica. The Central Valley can be warm and sunny and suddenly drop 10 degrees with overcast. Have a sweater handy, and carry an umbrella with you in the green season. When you take a trip through the mountains to the Pacific or Caribbean coast, weather cools off, and than rises again as you get town to the lowlands. Along the beach areas the days are hot and humid.
