Sansa Airlines New Flights to Costa Rica's Caribbean Coast
Starting in July, Sansa Airlines in Costa Rica will offer regular flights from San Jose to Caribbean coast town of Limon. According to a press release issued by the Presidency Ministry, this new flight is part of a plan to increase the flow of tourists into the Caribbean province.
Sansa plans to offer at least four flights a week, with price tickets ranging from $60 to $150.
The Costa Rican Tourism Board, Limon’s Chamber of Industry and Commerce and Norma Christy, director of the Limon airport took part in the negotiations that led to the new route, according to the daily La Nacion.
The flights are part of the bigger Limon Port City project, a $72.5 million government initiative that seeks to improve the image of the oft-maligned province by developing small Costa Rica businesses and increasing employment as a way to fight poverty.
