San Jose Guide:

San Jose, the Capital of Costa Rica, is the hub of all transportation in Costa Rica. For that reason, it is usually the first place you will visit while in Costa Rica. It lies between three Costa Rica volcanoes. There is a large variety of Costa Rica hotels, parks, restaurants and attractions for visitors. The first thing noticed about San Jose is the local friendliness. The city is set up on a pretty logical grid system. When on foot and touring the capital, Costa Ricans, also known as Ticos, are always willing to lend a hand with directions. Always remember though, locals use landmarks not street names for directions, and if you just can't figure out where you are, find a local church. Every church in Costa Rica faces west. While in the Capital, you have access to the best public transportation in all of Central America

Restaurants Costa Rica Central Valley: Los Anonos Restaurant

Costa Rica's Los Anonos Restaurant is located in San Rafael de Escazu Costa Rica, and offers great T-Bones and Tenderloin dinners and strive on personnel, helpful and friendly service.

Costa Rica's Los Anonos Restaurant opened it's doors over 46 years ago, in 1960. Its founders, Mr. Manuel Ramos and  wife Mrs. Alicia Espinoza, had the idea of offering a tour out of San Jose, including a great BBQ steak dinner. On the weekends, they're family farm in San Rafael de Escazu, became a family destination.

Restaurant Anonos' first clients enjoyed delicious cuts of beef prepared on an outside grill. The 10 tables had rustic benches made out of tree trunks from local mango trees. In those days the only dishes served were T-Bone steak and Tenderloin, which continue to be favorites today. Meals came accompanied with Mrs. Alicia’s Homemade Refried Beans and famous Cole Slaw. These family recipes remain unaltered to this day, and are the main specialties of Restaurant Los Anonos.

Since its early beginnings, Anonos restaurant gives top priority to its personnel, helpful and friendly service, making sure guests feel at home. The personnel is 100% female, from waiting on tables, kitchen staff, bartenders, to cooking on the grill. Over the last 20 years, 15 of the original staff are still at Los Anonos, so your guaranteed excellent service.

Today, Los Anonos restaurant has been modernized, has a growing clientele of local customers, as well as business clientele. The Costa Rican restaurant is now open every day for dinner.

In 2005, Restaurant Los Anonos BBQ received the much coveted National Award in the “Restaurant” category from the Costa Rica Tourist National Board. We welcome you to come see for yourself.
