Tipico Neolatino Restaurant

A significant step above most "typical" Costa Rican restaurants, this cozy joint sits on the site of the former Vaca Muca. The menu covers all the traditional bases, with some Peruvian and Nuevo Latino touches.

The fresh tilapia in papaya-and-tamarind sauce is a good bet, as is the ceviche. The steaks are hearty and well prepared, and there are some excellent desserts.

Off the main dining room is a popular bar, and behind the restaurant is a butterfly-and-orchid garden.
