Tamarindo Clean Up - Get Ride of Dengue Update Feb 29

The Tamarindo clean up that will be taking place over a 2-day period with the help of the Municipality of Santa Cruz. We will be able to help with collecting traditional types of garbage, separate the garbage and continue to look for a place to deposit the non-traditional garbage...Please let us know if you have any ideas as these areas are full of things like tires, large pieces of metal, among others.

The idea is to start a campaign within Costa Rica's local communities in the district of Tamarindo. People will participate in a monthly or bi-monthly clean-up of the rivers and estuaries within the Nicoya Peninsula area. We will continue to provide environmental education until the moment arrives in which it is no longer necessary to have clean-ups, and when people will understand the importance of responsibly managing our natural resources.

The clean-up of the San Andres River, which runs through Santa Rosa and empties into the Tamarindo Estuary, will occur on Wednesday, March 5 and of the San Francisco Estuary on Thursday, March 6, both from 7am to 12 noon.

We need help in the form of volunteers or workers, garbage bags (garden size), water and refreshments, and gloves. In whatever form that you can help us will be very much appreciated.
