Manuel Antonio / Quepos Sport Fishing Tours

Sailfish Costa Rica fishing is outstanding. Sails are most abundant throughout the year, however during the months of late December through May you should expect to see many free jumpers and excessive amounts of fish. Like Marlin, Sailfish are taken year round with usually about 5 to 15 fish a day.

Costa Rica fishing - Pacific: The calm waters of Quepos Costa Rica's Pacific coast have long been known to produce some of the most spectacular sailfishing in the world. Here the acrobatic sailfish are the primary target, but mighty blue and black marlin, colorful dorado, some striped marlin, wahoo, and yellowfin tuna that range often join them in size from small footballs to 200 lbs.-plus giants. Closer to shore, the awesome roosterfish lurk around submerged rocks, ready to pounce on baits and lures.

Costa Rica fishing - The port of Quepos is on the west coast in the center of the country. Right next to Quepos is the most popular National Park in Costa Rica, Manuel Antonio. This park is famous for it's beautiful beaches and abundance of wildlife. Quepos Fishing holds the largest sportfishing fleet in the country . The seas are almost always calm. To have 10 shots at a sailfish in a days fishing is common, 20 not unheard of and many days have been recorded when more than 30 fished were raised in a day.
