Neuter your pet or strays for "Almost Free" Jaco Costa Rica

A local Jaco vet has offered to volunteer her time in participation with the McKee Foundation to hold an "almost free" spay and castration week in Jaco Beach.

Katja Bader from the McKee foundation is scheduling appointments by phone or email for cats and dogs pets that need to be fixed. You can also bring in any strays. The appointments will be scheduled to start February 2nd, 2010 and will last till the Feb 7th if need be.

In addition to the vet's time and labor, stitches and gloves have been generously donated, so your fee will be c2,500 ($5) per animal to cover the cost of anesthesia, antibiotics, and syringes. For anyone who can't afford the c2,500 (example for those bringing in stray animals), the Foundation will cover those costs.

This is an excellent opportunity for members of the Jaco community to take have your pet fixed. The average operation regularly cost in excess of c20,000 (~$40) to perform. more
