Just to the left as you enter the village of Montezuma, you'll find this long-standing budget hotel. The rooms are spread out over two neighboring buildings fronting the village's small park and playground. All rooms are clean and well-kept, but I prefer the older rooms, which are located in a spacious three-story wooden building. There's even a two-room apartment on the third floor here, with a private balcony and a bit of an ocean view through the treetops.

This Costa Rica hotel also features a small lending library, some hammocks and comfortable chairs, a communal kitchen, and flowering vines growing up the walls. In fact, there are plants and vines all over La Aurora, which keeps things cool and gives the place a fitting tropical feel. Fresh Costa Rica coffee, tea, and hearty tico style breakfasts are served each morning.
