| Costa Rica Stuffed Grapefruit |
Ingredients:
- 8 small grapefruits
- 1 tapa de dulce
- 1 splinter of cinnamon
- 4 cloves
- 1 grated lemon skin
- 1 tsp. of baking soda
- 200 g of sugar
Stuffing:
- 400 g of powdered milk
- 1 bar of butter
- 1 can of condensed milk
Optional: You can add 100g of cashew, peanuts or nuts.
Preparation:
1. Peel the grapefruits and put away the pulp.
2. In a hot pot add the grapefruits and cook them with the baking soda for avoiding the bitter taste.
3. When they are ready, wash them and let them in for one day. The have to be very dry.
Syrup for the grapefruits:
1. Melt the tapa de dulce with the cinnamon and the cloves. Then cook in the syrup of the grapefruits. Add the grated lemon skin and cook in slow heat.
Stuffing preparation:
1. Melt the butter with the condensed milk. Add the powder milk. You can add the nuts. Stir until you get a dough. Fill the grapefruits with the mix and cover them with the sugar.
