Tamarindo is an area north of the Nicoya Peninsula on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica in the Guanacaste province.

This location is perfect for Costa Rica visitors who want to enjoy a relaxed and visually enticing environment that is warmer and less strenuous that the cooler degrees and dizzying heights of the canopy of the Monteverde Cloud Forest National park.

Tamarindo is in the Guanacaste province of Costa Rica, an area that includes much of the northwestern part of this country. A number of different beach fronts are situated along the area north and south of Tamarindo Beach, and immediately to the south is yet another national park. Dolphins, manta rays, and the nearby coral reef make this a great spot for snorkeling, as well as some of the best spots to enjoy Costa Rica scuba diving.

This side of Costa Rica has different weather conditions from the Atlantic, Caribbean side. Hurricanes in the east mean more rain no this side of the country, but the weather is generally clears and highs usually range from 80 to 100 degrees in the dry season. This perfect weather creates an ideal setting for other water activities; and so deep-sea fishing is another popular thing to do in Tamarindo, Costa Rica. It's warm enough that surfing also a goal of visitors to the area.

Tamarindo Beach Costa Rica is lined with shops that cater to all of these activities that take place here. Surf camps, eco-tour operators, sailing companies, diving schools, and jungle safaris are all things to do in this area, which you can find out more about simply by taking a stroll down Tamarindo Beach.

Tamarindo, Costa Rica is filled with activites for the visitor to Central America to enjoy. The National Park Las Baulas, just to the north of Tamarindo Beach, is a great place to take a jungle boat tour and see the giant leatherback turtles lay her eggs in the sand on your nocturnal excursion.

For more adventurous types who like this area, take an ATV tour into the hills above Tamarindo, but be sure to watch out for the iguanas that might cross your path. Kayaking is a great way to see the estuary up close and personal. Glide through the tree shaded slow moving waters as you take in the sights far from the bustle of Tamarindo Beach.

If you'd rather avoid all of these you can simply rent a car or a mountain bike and spend a couple days exploring the wonders of this area on your own. You will love the tranquil pace, amazing sunsets and the picturesque coasts of Tamarindo Beach, Costa Rica.
