Costa Rica Ministry of Health Coming to Tamarindo

Tamarindo Nicoya Peninsula Costa Rica

Concerns over the water quality of Nicoya Peninsula's Tamarindo beach area has been a big concern over the last year. Local Costa Rica hotels have been shut down due to improper waste disposal and the like. Costa Rica health officials will be spending a week in the area in efforts of solving the problem, and are looking for help from local residents:

Monday March 10, 2008, the Ministry of Health will be in Tamarindo and be using the APMT office as their work center. If anyone has a question about black water discharge, or suspects any suspicious activity, please stop by the APMT office and talk directly with the Health Department officials.

They don't know the town but you do. It is your chance to share with them what you know about black water discharge. Any kind of photos, locations, maps, as well as written observations, would be helpful. Please, have them with you.
