Costa Rica Aproves Higher Bus Fares
Costa Ricans and travelers that enjoy taking the bus, are expected to pay higher fares starting next week.
Costa Rica’s Public Services Regulatory Authority announced that bus fares will increase by an average of 3.94 percent across the country. The increase is taking place in adjustment with higher wages, fuel, spare parts and maintenance reported the daily La Nación. The last bus hike was made in February 2010.
Riders can expect to pay between ₡5 and ₡270 more per trip, depending on the route. Fares for 187 routes will not change.
