Offshore fishing

Costa Rica is definitely a great destination for Offshore Fishing. There are several spots where the waters are world famous all year round for sport fishing. Sailfish: Blue, Black and Striped Marlin, Billfish, Yellowfin Tuna, Dorado, Wahoo, Roosterfish, Snapper, Silver King (Tarpon), Snook and many others are just some of the option you can choose from.

In the North, Central and South Pacific some of the famous places are: Tamarindo, Coco, Quepos, Golfito, and the Osa Peninsula. The North Caribbean is famous for tarpon in the jungle lagoons, rivers and back waters of the Barra del Colorado River.

A lot of the lodges in the area offer complete packages including lodging, meals, boat trips and all offshore and inshore fishing equipment.

I will be traveling to Manuel Antonio and would like to go offshore for sail fishing. Any suggestions about safe local vessels offering this service?

Maybe you want to check Quepos Sailfishing Charters, seems to be a serious company. On the other hand you may check with your hotel and get some reccomendations from them too.
